Ducere Construction Services recently completed an in-depth survey of professional subcontractor firms that performed various services for Charles Perry Partners, Inc (CPPI).

The CPPI Subcontractors had to meet two criteria:

1. Provided trade services (Directly or Indirectly) to CPPI on a University of Florida project, in 2017 and 2018.
2. Participated in a City, State or Federal funded project in 2017 or 2018.

The survey identified trends, challenges, triumphs, shortcomings and other interesting findings about the Supplier Diversity space from the point of view of the professional subcontractors that work with CPPI.

2018 Charles Perry Study – Tier 1 & Tier 2 – Supply Chain Initiative by Ducere Construction Services, Incorporated

INTRODUCTION:

The spirit of CPPI’s culture is summarized in a 5-word action statement,

“Building Long Lasting Relationships & Structures.”

The simply stated, yet commanding and multifaceted mission is a tall order and heavy lift for any world-class construction firm. Yet CPPI is committed to fulfilling its mission, in a revolutionary era, when the world of construction is exponentially becoming more technology driven and diverse.

No matter how capable employees may be, no leading construction firm can match the worlds rapid innovation and improvement with internal resources alone. To quickly apprehend relevant global developments, threats and opportunities, CPPI must develop active External Networks to monitor ongoing changes in technology, methods, markets, politics, strategies and people’s values.

CPPI Supply Chain Study Book

These External Networks can include customers, consultants, advisors and most importantly Suppliers. Developing good relations and contact with Suppliers is essential for creating visions, strategies, and priorities and for anticipating and understanding developments that affect the business. External Networks also help identify, evaluate, and capture innovations, acquisitions, and projects capable of contributing superior value.

To gain a deeper understanding of CPPI Suppliers, CPPI and Ducere Construction Services launched an internally funded initiative to increase knowledge on how CPPI’s Supply Chain practices contribute to the local socio-economic communities of Gainesville, Florida.
