Historic Austell House

The Historic Austell House at 5925 Mulberry Street is a beautifully restored 1891 Victorian mansion — one of the most architecturally significant structures in the City of Austell, Georgia. The full restoration was delivered by Ducere Construction Services, which also operates the property as its company headquarters. The project required navigating historic preservation ordinances while simultaneously bringing all life-safety, electrical, and plumbing systems into full IBC compliance. Originally constructed in 1891, the mansion retains its period Victorian architectural character — original millwork profiles, historic facade proportions, and era-appropriate exterior detailing — while housing fully modernized interior systems beneath. The scope demanded dual expertise in period-accurate restoration techniques and contemporary structural engineering, coordinating with county preservation officers and licensed engineers to ensure every intervention preserved the building's historical integrity.
